About the exhibit VIKINGS 2016

Horn Helmets and Met: The fact that these are clichés does not change our fascination for the Vikings. It is surrounded by a heroic, mystical aura that exerts a special attraction.The exhibition WIKINGER! creates a multi-layered, realistic picture of the Viking age and shows honourable warriors, murdering looters or business travellers as well as strong Vikings, clever strategists or lovers of the fine arts.

In the adventure exhibition, high-class highlight objects from the Lunds Universitets Historiska Museum in Sweden and over twenty other renowned museums, some of which are on display for the first time, tell the historical facts.

Films, games and animations shed light on this mythical and legendary epoch - the fascinating world of the Vikings. Over 17 metres long original scenery ship from the film "Wickie auf großer Fahrt" on the locomotive shed forecourt!
