About the exhibit PHARAO 2017

Between people & gods, between heaven & earth. Enormous tombs and stone monuments of royal omnipotence symbolising the Pharaoh's ascent to heaven and his incorporation into the cycle of the sun. People lived here who worked and celebrated, took part in cults and wars, loved and suffered, fathered children and died.

From March 24 to December 17, 2017, the LOKSCHUPPEN EXHIBITION CENTRE in Rosenheim will revolve around the legendary pharaohs and their empire, ancient Egypt. The exhibition opens a new view on the oldest high culture in the world. What held this society together for thousands of years? Who won Egypt's greatness? Who built the monumental tombs, temples and palaces?

Over 300 original artefacts, up to 4,500 years old, convey a unique "aura" of history(ies). Detailed models and exciting media stations make it possible to experience life in ancient Egypt. Experience a culture that grew beyond itself in the cycle of fertile flood and scorching drought, in times of upheaval and rise.

Unlock the secrets. Experience the fascination. Discover and understand the mighty world of the pharaohs.
