At the Tea-House
While drinking a cup of spiced tea the children playfully get
to know different oriental spices, listen to stories and music
from Afghanistan

Starting first grade
Ornament tiles
Geometric patterns are of great importance to the islamic world.
The children paint a tile with china-colours according to a
pattern thus discovering how many different creative forms symmetric
patterns have.

Starting third grade
Embossing metal foil
The beating, engraving and embossing is a standard part of Afhghani
public art. According to patterns from the exhibiton the pupils
ornate the metal foil with engraved forms. Thus, simple pieces
of jewellery or small containers originate.

Felting
Under every nomad´s jurte lies a colourful felt carpet.
While felting a small mat, the children get to know this traditional
technic.

Starting grade 5
Writing in Arabic– a first try
The pupils are given an interesting insight into the characteristics
of Arabic letters and themselves try short decorative signs
with the raw feather. They finish a book-mark with their first
name in Arabic writing. |
