July – the family month
Every Saturday in July is Family Day! The dates are: 7th /14th /21st /28th of July 2007.
During the family month we offer attractive prices to families, making the „Maya“ exhibition the ideal location for a family excursion. A family visiting with two adults and their own children pay 11,50 € instead of 18,00 € and a family visiting with one adult and his/her own children pays 8,50 € instead of 11,00 €.
Furthermore the Lokschuppen offers an entertaining family program on every Saturday in July. It starts at 11.30 am with a guided tour for families. Afterwards the children can participate in handcraft workshops at 12.30 and 13.30. The whole program takes approx. 2,5 hours.
The family prices are offered to parents with their children as well as to grandparents visiting the “Maya” with their grandchildren.
The children can take their crafted items home, of course.

On all days in July families get special prices.

Family tickets can be bought by families with children between 5 and 16 years old and students presenting a valid student ID card.

August – the senior month
In August seniors can visit the exhibition “Maya – Kings Of The Rainforest” for a reduced price. Here they need to pay only 6,00 € per person instead of the usual 8,00 €. Also the participation in a guided tour is reduced from 3,00 € to 2,50 € for senior visitors in August. On every Tuesday and Thursday in the senior month guided tours are offered at 11.00 am, giving a concise and comprehensive introduction into the exhibition theme.
To increase comfort while listening to the guide, the Lokschuppen offers special, light, folding chairs, which can be borrowed from the cashier against pledge. The building is handicapped accessible, having a stair lift to take visitors with wheelchairs up to the higher floor of the exhibition. Parking areas for visitors with walking disabilities or wheelchairs are situated close to the entrance and accessible from the Reichenbachstrasse.

Guided tours for senior visitors in August!
On every Tuesday and Thursday in August there are guided tours for seniors at 11.00 am.

Special prices are offered to seniors throughout August.

Seniors include visitors from 60 years of age or with retiree identification cards.
