About the PHARAOH Exhibition

Between humans and gods, between heaven and earth! Enormous burial sites and stone monuments to royal omnipotence which symbolise the pharaoh’s ascent to heaven and his incorporation in the cycle of the sun! People lived here who worked and celebrated, took part in cults and wars, loved and suffered, raised children and died.

From March 24th to December 17th 2017 the LOKSCHUPPEN EXHIBITION CENTRE in Rosenheim dedicates an exhibition to legendary pharaohs and their realm, Ancient Egypt. An unprecedented view of the world’s oldest advanced civilisation is revealed.

What kept this society together over thousands of years? Who carved out Egypt’s greatness? Who built the monumental burial sites, temples and palaces?

Over 300 original artefacts, some of them up to 4,500 years old, convey a unique “aura” of history. Detailed models and exciting media stations provide an insight to daily life in ancient Egypt. Experience a culture which surpassed itself in the cycle of prolific flooding and scorching drought, in times of turmoil and ascendency.

Uncover secrets and experience fascination. Discover and understand the mighty world of pharaohs.

An exhibition prepared by the VERANSTALTUNGS+KONGRESS GmbH Rosenheim (Rosenheim Event & Congress GmbH) in cooperation with the Roemer & Pelizaeus Museum Hildesheim, the University of Aberdeen Museum and MuseumsPartner.
